My name is Gary Pippel and I purchased this 1982 Collector Edition from the original owner last July. The car has 8700 documented miles on it. It has been a trailer queen all of its life.  The car has never been rained on. The Chevrolet store in New Jersey was allotted five units, and they all were delivered on one transporter. The store made provisions for the truck driver to unload them in a warehouse so they would not be subjected to the outside environment. The owner of this car was the first to be called and chose this one. He took delivery of it on April 8, 1982. 

Records indicate that the first four thousand miles were driven during the first two years of its life. It came with all the options, except the gymkhana suspension and the heavy duty cooling system. All component numbers match and like the seller, I will continue to purchase replacement parts, including batteries, from Chevrolet or Chevrolet approved stores.   

The car has won many shows, including the Gold Spinner Award and Bloomington Certified Gold. #1545. It was also featured on the cover on VetteVantage Magazine in March of 1984. When the car was not in a trailer it was stored and maintained in a climate controlled bubble. 

My intentions are to drive and enjoy the car. It will no longer be considered a trailer queen. It will not sit in a bubble, however, it will be garaged and maintained by myself.  

I have been a Corvette follower since 1955. I have collected sales brochures since 1953 and continue to collect them today, along with other Chevrolet nameplates. In recent years I have also added promotional models to my collection. 

I, also, intend to assist a Tennessee collector in locating all existing 1982 Collector Editions, in the world. It is believed that only ½ of the 6,759 units exist today.

Because the car has been sitting around for so many years, I currently have a Corvette mechanic going through it from top to bottom. All fluids, filters, the radiator core, the master cylinder, seals, etc. are being flushed or changed out.
