Steven & Amy Cassaniti's 2019 Long Beach Red Z06 Coupe

As much as my 2019 black Grand Sport will always hold a special place in my heart since it is my first Corvette -- admittedly I had been looking for something else more recently; and I had a fairly narrow spec.  I knew I wanted to stay in the C7 family and was looking to move-up to the Z06.  I have always liked the Long Beach Red metallic tintcoat color.  It's a chameleon of sorts.  Color seems to change based on the car's exposure to sunlight, in the shade, and even at night.  I like that.   Plus it doesn't show dirt and dust as easily as a black exterior.  I like that even better.  Then there is the debate whether to get a manual or automatic transmission.  No debate here.  I should have ordered a manual with the Grand Sport.  It's the last time it will be available on a Corvette or so they say.  Don't care that an A8 is supposedly quicker.  Not going to track the car.  Don't care about Atlanta traffic.  It's just pure exhilaration to row those gears even on Cobb Parkway.  So the search began.

I found one to my liking at Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  This is the same dealership (and same Corvette sales rep- Mike Furman) where I had purchased my Grand Sport 3LT new just 2-1/2 years earlier so I was comfortable with them and their process.  But I had to act quickly.  I had already missed-out on a few other cars that I liked.  So I bought a one way ticket and flew-up to Baltimore on a Tuesday night.  By Wednesday before lunch I was driving back to Marietta in my new-to-me 2019 Z06.  Admittedly I was just a wee bit nervous and excited at the same time.  It's a 2LZ, LBR with black interior, and does indeed have a 7-speed manual.  Car only has 9,200 miles from one previous owner.  It's all stock with red seat belts, pearl color 10-spoke blade wheels, and has the carbon flash black badging package.  Enjoying it immensely.  Who wouldn't!
